Henix Obuchunju, a multimedia journalist looks into investigating a story that brings to fore how health workers entrusted with taking care of Kenyans, especially following the outbreak of the COVID-19, and related emergency containment measures by the Government, have turned this into a cash cow, and diverted medical supplies meant for public health facilities to their private health centres.

Several patients and Kenyans have reported and narrated how on many occasions they have been directed to private clinics (owned by doctors). In a different scenario, medicines bearing government of Kenya (GOK) labels have found their way in private chemists owned by the said doctors.

Patients visiting a section of health facilities in Nairobi county like Kibera south health center famously referred to as (Kwawanga), Kibera DO Health Center, Pumwani Majengo H/C among others have reported medical negligence, absenteeism, and lack of adequate medical supplies as main challenges since the pandemic struck in Kenya.
