As the country continues to grapple with the Coronavirus pandemic, several measures have been instituted to control the COVID -19 Pandemic including investing heavily in terms of finances by the Government since the first case was reported in March 2020.
However, the continued lack of transparency by the Ministry of Health and different agencies tasked with managing resources set aside for the pandemic has been reported.
Each county was given 5 billion towards responding to COVID-19 in putting up infrastructure in the hospitals and ensuring the safety and compensation of health workers who were risking their lives attending to patients who turned positive with the virus. Instead, doctor’s strikes have become the order of the day in Nairobi.
