On Saturday, 22nd June 2019, the A4T team conducted a public awareness activity in Kasarani and Roysambu Sub-Counties to Inform and empower citizens to participate in governance processes of public funds in health and education and encouraging citizens to report suspected corruption through the Action for Transparency mobile App.
The roadshow begun from Ngara, then through Thika Road – Roysambu – Kasarani – Mwiki – Kasarani – Lucky Summer – Baba Dogo and Ngara, targeting high pedestrian areas for stopovers. Part of the caravan included A4T Advocates, who interacted with citizens about the project and helping them download the A4T App into their mobile phones. The National Anti-Corruption Steering Committee (NACSC) also joined the team and participated in addressing members of the public at the stopovers.
Wasanii Sanaa, an entertainment and educational (Edutainment) group, performed skits to inform the public about the effects of corruption. This enabled an increase interaction with members of the public and hence increasing the reach and impact of A4T’s messaging in sensitising the public against corruption.
Over 800 people were reached directly, with 66 others being able to download and use the A4T mobile App. PHOTOS https://bit.ly/2NjRC0m
